Phillips County Library System: The Phillips County library system unveiled a new, $1.6 million, 13,000 square-foot flagship branch in Helena in 2010. With more than triple the space of its previous location, the new library has a dedicated children’s area, computer lab, community room, genealogy room, and plenty of parking. In addition to the new flagship branch, the other library branches (located in Marvell, Elaine, and a second location in Helena) are also extremely active and provide a variety of services and special programs throughout the year. Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA): We are fortunate to have an outstanding community college that is affiliated with the University of Arkansas. Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas (PCCUA) includes three locations, with its flagship campus located in Helena. Comprised of a lovely campus nestled among the rolling green hills of Crowley’s Ridge, it offers Career and Technical courses to high school students; Technical Certification in everything from cosmetology to phlebotomy; Certificates of Proficiency and Associates Degrees in a wide variety of disciplines; and four-year degrees offered by other universities on-site or via distance learning.
